Crime eases in Riverside, rape ‘redefined’
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Reported crime in the city took a double-digit drop during the first 6-months of the year.

It was down nearly 16 percent as compared to the first-half of last year.

Nine murder investigations were opened for a slight increase.

Reported incidents of rape nearly doubled to 69 after the FBI re-defined that category. Police Lt. Mike Cook says it now includes other sex crimes “like oral copulation, sodomy and incidents involving male victims.”
