Longtime voice of NBC, Don Pardo, dies at 96
TUCSON – (INT) – Television announcing legend Don Pardo has died.

His enthusiastic opening to ‘Saturday Night Live’ was embraced by contemporary viewers. But, his broadcasting career dates back to 1938.

Six years later, he joined NBC. Pardo made his mark on game shows for NBC. He squeezed in many other assignments at NBC, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and NBC Nightly News.

Pardo played down his notoriety in recent interviews.

He was 96 when he died at his home in Tucson, Arizona.
