Indicted retired assistant sheriff freed SAN BERNARDINO - (INT) – First, there were seven. Now, only two defendants remain from the indictment of seven former San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department employees accused of falsifying training records to gain pay raises.
A Superior Court judge Tuesday dismissed the perjury and grand theft case against retired assistant sheriff Michael Stodelle. Three other defendants won dismissals earlier. Another was fined. Still facing trial are former Captain Hobart Gray and former training specialist Sallyann Christian. The indictments were handed down in 2011. Story Date: August 22, 2014
