California takes spotlight in energy production
California leads the nation in the output of renewable energy.

The Inland Empire is a major contributor of solar power. Wind energy isn’t far behind.

Spokesman Jonathan Cogan at the government’s Energy Information Administration.

“When renewable resources are considered together, including wind, solar, hydropower, biomass and geothermal power are expected to generate 13 percent of the nation’s energy supplies this year.”

Wind power will grow about 7 percent.
