Curtain drops on Legislative session; Steinberg termed out SACRAMENTO – (INT) - The California Senate finished its two-year legislative session well ahead of its Sunday Constitutional deadline.
It marks the first time since 2004 that the Legislature has completed its work before August 31st. Senate President pro Tempore Darrell Steinberg wound up his final year as Senate Leader as he is being termed out of office. Steinberg’s agenda had included job creation, improved education, developing the state’s water infrastructure, tackling climate change, revising criminal justice policy, and protecting California’s natural heritage.
