GRAND TERRACE – (INT) – Dates are being announced for Part 2 of a project to install new train trestles across Interstate 215.

The massive bridges have been assembled and will begin their slow trek Friday night toward their eventual installation north of Iowa Avenue.

Caltrans Terri Kasinga says it’s a follow-up to a pair of identical trestles that were put in place last spring.

“We’re going to be moving two bridges to their new abutments. It’ll be about the same amount of work.”

It’ll be done over the next three weekends beginning late this coming Friday night. The 215 freeway will be shut down in both directions between Iowa Avenue and Barton Road.
