Water wasters put on notice
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Water wasters are coming under greater pressure to do their part as the drought drags on.

Kevin Pearson at the Eastern Municipal Water District is encouraging people to turn in those who are letting irrigation water run down the street.

"We are encouraging them to use a hotline we have established. We are following up with every call we receive about water waste,” Pearson said.

That number is 951 928-3777, extension 3306.

The EMWD has established Stage 3-A mandatory water use restrictions.

Those include reducing by 1-day a week outdoor irrigation. No variances will be granted for filling swimming pools.

The Eastern Municipal Water District serves an area from Moreno Valley to Temecula.
