Drought inspires voters to back Proposition 1 SAN FRANCISCO – (INT) - Timing is everything --- especially in politics.
With the persistent drought and no relief in sight, a new California Field Poll finds would-be voters solidly behind Proposition 1 on the November ballot. It’s the statewide water bond measure whose provisions have been debated by the legislature and Governor Brown for the last few years. It authorizes $7.5 billion in bonds to improve the state’s water quality, supply and infrastructure. By a nearly 2-1 majority, the poll finds voters (52% to 27%) inclined to vote Yes in support of the passage of Prop. 1. Another 21% of likely voters are undecided. Story Date: September 17, 2014
