James Bond's 'Jaws' dies at 74
FRESNO – (INT) – His name was not known. But his appearance as a steel-toothed villain was galvanized in the minds of James Bond movie buffs. He was dubbed ‘Jaws’ and he killed people.

Richard Kiel stood a towering 7-feet-2 inches. He appeared in several films and TV shows and was still working when he was interviewed a year ago on a British television show.

“I’ve been very blessed. I did the “Silver Streak”, “The Green Machine” and I’m doing a film where I play a handicapped guy who lost the use of his legs trying to save the women and children from aliens. It’s a sci-fi film.”

Kiel has died in a Fresno hospital after suffering a broken leg a week earlier. He would have been 75 on Saturday.
