RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Pomona police have taken over the case of a man’s body found in a car trunk at a Riverside Walmart store.

The victim died in Pomona of undisclosed circumstances.

Pomona police Sunday identified the man as Miguel Perez, a 33-year-old transient.

A woman reported finding the body Saturday when she opened the trunk of a 1999 Lexus in the parking lot of the Walmart on Van Buren Boulevard. She could not explain the incident and was released after questioning.

Riverside County authorities will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
