Death penalty support dips to 50-year low
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – The latest California Field Poll reflects the thinking of many, there’s a problem with the death penalty.

Support for the death penalty is now at its lowest point in nearly 50-years. Just 3-years ago, 69 percent of those polled favored execution. Now, it’s dropped to 56 percent.

San Bernardino County DA Mike Ramos says “The appellate process needs to be fixed and even the form of execution. In some other states, including Texas and Missouri, they are using Phenobarbital. It’s a process that is just.”

Voter support in California for keeping the death penalty dipped to an all-time low of just 49 percent in 1956.
