Train trestles cross 215 freeway GRAND TERRACE (INT) The last of four train trestles were put in place across the 215 freeway this weekend.
Justin Murphy is the General Manager for the bridge fabricator. The final stage is a one-night closure in which we spin the bridge out above the freeway and set it in place and erect the entire structure in one night, Murphy said. Each 200-foot span weighs a million pounds. The trestles will carry BNSF and Metrolink trains between Riverside and San Bernardino. Route 215 will be closed Friday night for the final placement.
