Enterovirus arrives in California
SOUTHLAND - (INT) – Health officials confirm that the respiratory virus Enterovirus 68 has arrived in Southern California.

Four children have come down with the rare illness, three in San Diego County and one in Ventura County.

No cases have turned up in the Inland Empire, but Riverside County Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser says it’s just a matter of time.

“The CDC is investigating several eastern states with similar cases. It is almost certain that we will detect eventually cases in the Western United States.”

California’s cases involved children aged 2-to-13.
