Earthquake re-energizes preciously dry streams
NAPA VALLEY – (INT) – Some streams near the epicenter of last month’s big Wine Country earthquake have come back to life.

The US Geological Survey has found water flowing again in some previously-dry creeks, rivers and streams prompting many nearby residents to scratch their heads.

Hydrogeologic responses to earthquakes have been known by scientists for decades.

Based on previous studies, the USGS says stream and spring flows are expected to decline again over the next several months, assuming that the Napa region does not get significant rainfall over that time period.
