NorCal firefights winding down
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – Many firefighters in Northern California are returning home as the battle against three remaining blazes winds down.

More than 8,400 firefighters attacked twelve major fires during September.

Cooler weather and rain dampened the fire threat this weekend. But, the fire danger will increase again with the opening of October as temperatures rise and the humidity falls.

The 97,000 acre King Fire in El Dorado County is 78 percent contained. Others are burning in Yosemite National Park and the Klamath National Forest.
