Perris councilman to surrender on five drug charges
PERRIS – (INT) – City Councilman Julio Rodriguez could soon be on his way out.

Rodriguez, who will be 29 next Friday, has been charged with three felony and two misdemeanor drug offenses.

The case stems from an all-night session last June with two men smoking methamphetamines at the Red Lion Inn. There was a disagreement over who was paying for the ‘meth’. One of the men allegedly took Rodriguez city-issued iPad. Rodriguez reported it missing touching off a 3-month investigation.

Rodriguez is accused of possessing and furnishing a controlled substance.

Rodriguez was elected to the Perris City Council in 2012 after spending only $500 for some campaign signs. He would be forced to resign if he is convicted of a felony.

His court arraignment is scheduled for October 29th.
