Governor Brown draws wrath of Riverside County leaders
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – County Supervisors minced no words Tuesday about Governor Brown’s veto of a bill that could have returned millions of dollars in Vehicle License Fee revenue to the region’s four newest cities.

Supervisor John Tavaglione’s criticism was most severe.

"It’s a slap in the face to this county and the four cities that worked so hard to become incorporated. I’m embarrassed to say he’s the governor of this state.”

Supervisor Marion Ashley said Brown’s veto was a ‘misguided, cold-hearted act’.

Supervisor Jeff Stone says it particularly hits hard at Jurupa Valley.

“It has a slim chance of survival without these funds coming in. City leaders may have to close their doors. They’ve already filed an application for disincorporation in anticipation of a bad decision.”

City leaders of Eastvale, Wildomar and Menifee will discuss what measures are necessary to keep their cities in tact.
