Californians prep for Great Shakeout
SAN BERNARDINO - (INT) – The focus will be on school safety during Thursday’s Great California ShakeOut.

The annual preparedness exercise teaches how to drop, cover and hold on during an actual earthquake.

All 51,000 students in the San Bernardino City School District will participate at 10:16 Thursday morning. But, spokeswoman Maria Garcia says the school district’s emergency manager will make regular follow-up visits to each school “so in the event of a real disaster that evacuations occur in an orderly manner.”

Everyone is encouraged to participate in Thursday’s drill including private businesses.

It’s the seventh annual California Shakeout.
