Online car ad spells murder
LOS ANGELES - (INT) – A student’s attempt to sell his car on line cost him his life.

Police announced Monday they have arrested a suspect in the slaying of Cal State-Northridge student Abdullah Alkadi. His body was found last week at the side of Interstate 10 in Palm Desert.

Alkadi was last seen a month earlier at his home in Northridge.

LA Police Chief Charlie Beck announced Monday the arrest of Augustine Fernandez, 28, of Long Beach on suspicion of murder, robbery and car jacking.

“This is a very sad case. It’s a case that’s all too common. The message for the public is that you have to be aware when using online Internet sites to sell anything.”

Alkadi, a Saudi Arabia national, was studying electrical engineering at Cal State.
