Wrong way driver in fiery I-15 crash identified
RANCHO CUCAMONGA – (INT) – Witnesses say a driver accelerated his car with the headlights off when he entered the I-15 freeway going the wrong way early Wednesday.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said the odds were against the driver in a grinding head-on collision just moments later near Baseline Road.

“There was a big rig full of products going 55 miles an hour that collided with the small car.”

Both vehicles caught fire.

The big rig driver was unhurt. But, the driver of the Prius was killed on impact. He's been identified as Liam Niemeyer, 18, of Lancaster.
