Corruption probe nets Menifee councilman
MENIFEE – (INT) – A corruption probe is underway at City Hall.

There are reports that Councilman Tom Fuhrman has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges for misusing his authority and conducting business without a license.

Fuhrman was arrested Thursday.

He is running for re-election next month.

The conflict of interest and related charges stem from his ownership of the Wooden Nickel Ranch.

DA's complaint:

Eight counts: One felony and seven misdemeanors:

Count 1, a felony, Government Code section 1090, conflict of interest

Counts 2-5, all misdemeanors, Gov. Code section 87100, using his official position to influence a governmental decision in which he knows he has a financial interest
Counts 6-8, all misdemeanors, city Municipal Code section 5.1.030, not having a business license
