Survey: News consumers shifting preferences to Internet
LOS ANGELES – (INT) – The Internet continues to gain on television and newspapers as a primary news source.

With local newspapers on the decline, Los Angeles television stations have been making a grab for more viewers in the Inland Empire.

But, the Public Policy Institute of California found that the Internet has overtaken television as a news source for younger adults, upper-income residents and college graduates. More than half who rely on TV watch cable news.

As for print newspapers, the PPIC said that readership has plunged 21 percent the past seven years.
