California business tax climate rated SACRAMENTO – (INT) – California’s business tax climate is among the worst in the nation.
California ranks 48th according to the latest edition of the State Business Tax Climate Index, released this morning by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation. Only New York and New Jersey are worse. The most competitive states with the best tax climates are Wyoming (#1), South Dakota (#2) and Nevada (#3). The Tax Foundation gave California its best performances on how property taxes and unemployment insurance taxes are structured. California ranked at the bottom in the individual income tax structure.
