First local Ebola protocols enacted
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – County health officials are monitoring two low-risk individuals who recently returned after traveling to Ebola-impacted countries in West Africa.

Neither person shows any symptoms of Ebola and denies contact with anyone who had the illness.

The health department is contacting the individuals twice a day. Monitoring will continue for 21 days.

Both individuals are staying at their homes at undisclosed locations and have been cooperative with health officials. No family members are being monitored.

Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser said the actions are a precaution and follow protocols recently announced by the Centers for Disease Control.
