November to open cooler, windy and rainy
INLAND EMPIRE - Halloween will set the stage as a potent Pacific weather system ushers in November. The first measurable rain in several weeks is a certainty and the season’s first snow is likely at the higher mountain resorts by early Saturday.

Rain could be heavy enough for a flash flood watch in the Santa Ana Mountains around the Silverado burn area.

A winter weather advisory calls for snow levels dropping to 6,000 feet tonight in the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountains.

Winds will mark the storm’s march across the deserts. Gusts to 60 miles an hour will stir up some dust and sand.

After the storm clears out, skies will clear early Sunday as Daylight Saving Time ends and clocks are turned back an hour. Temperatures will gradually climb next week.
