RIVERSIDE – (INT) – County Supervisor Kevin Jeffries says he will donate his pay raise to the Riverside County Regional Parks and Open Space District.

Jeffries is following up on a campaign pledge not to accept a pension, a pay raise nor stipends to attend local meetings. But, the supervisors say he’s been notified that the State constitution declares that salaries cannot be reduced during the term of office for certain elected officials.

Jeffries has branded that ‘very twisted government logic’.

Jeffries, a former State assemblyman, says he seek legislation to clarify that refusing a pay increase is not the same as accepting a pay cut.
