Job growth dents unemployment INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Riverside and San Bernardino counties continue recouping the jobs it lost during the recession.
The State Employment Development Department (EDD) says the region added 29,700 jobs the past 12 months for a growth rate of 2.4 percent. More people are getting paychecks, but joblessness for many persists. New figures show that October’s unemployment rate of 8.1 percent was the second-lowest of the year in the Inland Empire. The last time the rate rose above 8 percent was May, 2008 as the recession was taking hold. The rate peaked at 15.1 percent in the summer of 2010. Story Date: November 23, 2014
