RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Riverside County is taking steps to cut claims and lawsuits against its agencies.

Use of body cameras worn by sheriff’s deputies is a start. County supervisors recently approved the purchase of several.

County Counsel Greg Priamos says that although 90 percent of claims against the county are denied, it can be a learning experience “by identifying policies and procedures that might enhance our ability to do our jobs more efficiently and reduce the likelihood that we may see a lawsuit in the future.”
