Police protests result in mass arrests LOS ANGELES - Police arrested 130 protesters overnight during a second round of demonstrations against a Missouri grand jury's decision not to indict a white police officer in the shooting death of a black teenager.
A large demonstration ended early Wednesday morning in downtown Los Angeles when police officers in riot gear surrounded a group of several dozen protesters near the intersection of Temple Street and Broadway. At about 12:45 a.m., Los Angeles police told the group they were under arrest and ordered the crowd to sit down. Two police buses then arrived to take the protesters into custody. A police spokesman said the arrests were made on charges of disorderly conduct. Protests were also staged in Oakland and San Diego. (Source: Los Angeles Times) Story Date: November 27, 2014
