Retiring official urges protection of archives
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – County Supervisors used their last meeting of the year Tuesday to bid farewell to three officials.

Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Dennis Draeger used the occasion to implore the supervisors to move the archives building from a flood zone. Draeger says it contains many important documents.

“All the land transactions, marriages, birth and death records covering decades. We need to properly protect them. Please, please give that consideration. Thank you very much.”

Also retiring is Draeger’s assistant Dan Harp and County School Superintendent Gary Thomas.
