Poll: Ignorance about paid family leave
SAN FRANCISCO - (INT) – The California Field Poll has found that only one in three voters (36%) are aware of the state’s Paid Family Leave Program. It provides up to six weeks of paid family leave for eligible workers.

The ignorance crosses nearly all major voter subgroups, especially among ethnic voters, voters with no more than a high school education, and women.

Among those aware of the program, a large majority (79%) understands that besides caring for newborns, paid family leave can be used to care for seriously ill family members.
