Colorado River water forecast issued
PARKER DAM – (INT) – Deliveries along the State Water Project are far short of normal, but imported water from the Colorado River may help alleviate Southern California’s deficit.

Springtime run-off down the river is predicted to be 87 percent of average.

Brenda Alcorn at the National Weather Service, Colorado River Forecast Center says “The snowpack is going to be the big driver. Right now, we’re doing okay, but not great. It depends here on out if the basins above Lake Powell get additional snow or continue to dry out.”

The Colorado River is a major source of water for Riverside County. Lake Mathews is the western terminus of the aqueduct that spans the length of the county.
