Sunshine to cap holiday, erases rain
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Damp low pressure took a final swipe at Southern California Sunday delivering light rain and drizzle from the coast across the inland valleys. Sunshine and a delayed warming trend shifts into gear Memorial Day and will hold for the closing days of the month.

The fast-moving weather system brought to the Southland what had been forecast last Friday. It dipped south from the San Joaquin Valley and was predicted to sweep into Arizona by late Sunday.

It was the last in a series of weak Pacific storms that has kept Southern California cooler than normal most of the month.

Sunshine reappears Monday to cap off the Memorial Day holiday. Temperatures will respond throughout the week eventually hitting the 90 degree mark. There is no rain in the extended outlook.

The marine layer will be thinning out at the beaches where an advisory of surf 2-6 feet with dangerous swimming conditions is in effect until Monday evening.
