K-9 Sultan credited with saving officer's life
SAN JACINTO – (INT) – Condolences continue to pour in over last week’s slaying of a police K-9 by a wanted felon.

The gunman was, in turn, killed when he was flushed by teargas from beneath a house carrying a handgun.

Sheriff Stan Sniff said “Truly that dog, like all our other dogs, was a hero and probably saved an officer’s life that afternoon.”

Sniff says a memorial ceremony is planned next month at the March Field Museum.

The city of San Jacinto has set up a K-9 donation account.

Riverside County Supervisors adjourned their meeting Tuesday in memory of ‘Sultan’.
