MURRIETA – (INT) – A Superior Court jury returned a first degree murder verdict Monday against Kyle McLean.

The 23-year-old man strangled his grandmother at the home they shared in Murrieta, put the body in a plastic bin and disposed of it near Yucaipa. The remains of 71-year-old Catherine Sutton were never found.

McLean testified he didn’t mean to kill the woman while using drugs because she was constantly nagging him.

McLean returns to court for sentencing April 10th.
