'Insurgent' shows 'Divergent' box office might
HOLLYWOOD - 'The Divergent Series: Insurgent' showed franchise staying power, topping the box office this week.

Success came one year after the first screen adaptation of Veronica Roth's best-selling book series.

Sean Penn's foray into the possible-franchise action world was not nearly as successful with 'The Gunman', which earned a fourth-place finish.

Kenneth Branagh's live-action 'Cinderella' took second place after winning its box office debut.

Liam Neeson managed to show enough box office stamina to pull into third place with his thriller 'Run All Night'.

The amazingly resilient thriller 'Kingsman: The Secret Service', starring Colin Firth as the world's classiest spy, rounded out the top five. (Source: USA Today).
