Longtime Los Angeles weatherman George Fishbeck dies
LOS ANGELES - George Fischbeck, longtime Los Angeles-based weatherman working for KABC, has died, the TV station reported Wednesday.

“Fishbeck brought us the forecast for nearly 20 years in the ’70s and ’80s before retiring from KABC,” the station stated.

In 2013, the Los Angeles City Council declared April 10 Dr. George Day.

“For many Angelenos, Dr. George was more than just the weatherman. … When he was giving us his forecast for the highs and lows of the next day, he’d also remind us to be good citizens and take care of each other,” the station wrote.

In 2013, Fishbeck released the book “Dr. George: My Life in Weather.”

Fishbeck was 92 years old. (KTLA)
