Record warmth, dryness ramp up early fire season
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – Fire season is getting a jump start as the once-green landscape returns to various shades of brown.

Calfire has responded to over 650 wildfires that have burned nearly 3,400 acres across the state since the beginning of the year. That’s nearly a 50% increase in fire activity.

The weather has been playing a big role. The National Weather Service has found that the past 4-years have featured record dry and warmth throughout California.
