Riverbottom encampment closed to homeless
VICTORVILLE – (INT) – A 12-month effort to encourage alternatives for the homeless has ended with the closure of an encampment in the Mojave Riverbottom.

Twenty-five people were rousted from the area this week taking with them about 15 RV trailers. Four vehicles were towed. One person was arrested for unlawful camping.

Large amounts of trash will have to be removed as authorities seek to return the riverbottom to its natural condition.

Entrances have been temporarily gated and ‘No Trespassing’ signs posted.
