Gang members arrested in Operation Safe Coachella 15.1.
COACHELLA-– (INT) - Officers from the Coachella Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, supported by additional Federal, State, and local law enforcement officers, served a series of search warrants Wednesday, in Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, and Indio, as part of “Operation Safe Coachella 15.1.”

The search warrants were served on the residences of suspected gang members and stems from gang violence and shootings that have occurred over the last several months.

15 suspects are in custody, ten are active gang members.

Five firearms (four handguns & one rifle) were recovered along with over two ounces of suspected methamphetamine and over one thousand, five hundred dollars of US Currency.

A training grenade, narcotics, and gang paraphernalia were also recovered.

The operation is part of an ongoing effort to combat predatory gang activity in the community and protect law abiding residents from violence.
