14 County schools receive state awards
SAN BERNARDINO - (INT) - Fourteen San Bernardino middle and high schools were among the 373 secondary schools statewide that received Gold Ribbon Awards, the California Department of Education announced Tuesday.

The Gold Ribbon awards recognize California schools that have made gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education.

These include, the California Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics, California English Language Development Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards.

This year’s county Gold Ribbon schools, and the districts they represent, are:

Big Bear Middle School, Bear Valley Unified School District;
Ruben Ayala High, Chino Valley Unified;
Day Creek Intermediate, Etiwanda Elementary;
Jurupa Hills High, Fontana Unified;
Twentynine Palms Junior High, Morongo Unified;
De Anza Middle, Ontario-Montclair;
Citrus Valley High, Redlands High and Redlands East Valley High, Redlands Unified;
Serrano Middle, San Bernardino City Unified;
Upland High and Upland Junior High, Upland Unified;
University Prep, Victor Valley Union High;
Mesa View Middle, Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified.
