Police arrest suspect who stole donations
JURUPA VALLEY - (INT) - Investigators and deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Burglary Suppression Team collaborated on an ongoing investigation, which led to the identification of a suspect who stole donations among other items.

A grand theft occurred at a Lion’s Club facility located in the 5900 block of Limonite Avenue, on March 24.

Among the items stolen were approximately 500 pairs of prescription eyeglasses that were set to be donated to underprivileged people in South America.

The investigation led to the identification of a suspect identified as Jonathan William Earl Pointer, a 21-year-old resident of Jurupa Valley.

On Tuesday, Pointer was located at a residence located in the 6000 block of De La Vista, Jurupa Valley, where he was arrested without incident.

Investigators also recovered approximately two dozen pair of stolen prescription glasses.

Pointer was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for grand theft and possession of stolen property.
