Father arrested for murder of his son
APPLE VALLEY -– (INT) - Cold case detectives arrested Lucas Dingman for the murder of his 11 month old child, Bradley Dingman, four years ago.

On May 20, 2011, at approximately 9:55 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to the report of an apartment fire in Apple Valley.

Upon arrival, deputies were informed that smoke alarms had sounded inside the residence and the residents found smoke and flames emanating from inside the bedroom of 11 month old, Bradley Dingman.

The victim was located inside his crib suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. The baby was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries on May 21, 2011.

Arson investigators determined the fire to be arson and it had been intentionally set.

In February of 2014, detectives assigned to the Cold Case Team reopened the investigation.

On May 1, 2015, detectives traveled to Waterloo, Iowa to interview Lucas Dingman. At the conclusion of the interview, he was arrested for the murder of Bradley Dingman.

Dingman was booked into the county jail and is awaiting extradition back to San Bernardino County.
