Gas prices hit 2015 peak
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – The latest run-up in gasoline prices may have peaked just before motorists take to the road for the Memorial Day weekend.

California pump prices vary greatly depending on location. Los Angeles gas stations have been collecting just over $4 a gallon, the most expensive in the state. Nationwide, the average is $2.71.

Inland Empire drivers were paying $3.94 before it slowed down. That’s about 20-cents below a year ago, but 76-cents above a month ago.

The Automobile Club says the nationwide average of $2.71 is the lowest for Memorial Day in six years.

The recent increases mirror the rising cost of crude oil.
