EDD: More jobs, less unemployment
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The region’s economy continues to add jobs as the unemployment rate slipped for the third consecutive month.

The State Employment Development Department says April’s jobless rate of 6.2 percent is not only the lowest since 2007, but nearly matches the California rate as the Inland Empire employers close the gap.

During the past 12-months, 52,200 jobs were added for an annual growth rate of 4.1 percent.

Over the past month, professional and business services recorded the greatest gain. Manufacturing was the second-best gainer.

Educational and health services recorded the largest overall loss.
