Californians split on their finances and state's economy SAN FRANCISCO – (INT) – The California Field Poll has found nearly twice as many California voters (48%) now saying they are financially better off this year than are worse off (27%).
But for the 13th consecutive year, voters have offered a more negative than positive appraisal of the overall California economy. Voters offer a generally mixed assessment about economic conditions in the state in the next 12 months. Thirty-seven percent feel economic conditions in the state will improve next year, but 39% believe things will remain about the same. The poll found voter’s own personal financial situation more upbeat following an unusually long six-year period from 2008-2013 in which more voters reported worsening than improving financial fortunes.
