Man kills mother after a domestic disturbance
RANCHO CUCAMONGA – (INT) - Deputies were called to a residence in the 9700 block of Cerise St. for a domestic disturbance, Wednesday. The caller stated a man was assaulting a woman in the backyard of the home.

As deputies were responding, the caller further stated the suspect was leaving the scene on foot. Additional responding deputies were advised the suspect was at the nearby Jack in the Box restaurant on Archibald Ave. and Arrow Rte. They located the suspect and took him into custody.

Deputies and medical aid arrived on Cerise St. and found the victim unresponsive. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have determined that the suspect, Angel Leytte, 23, went to the residence to visit his mother, Xochilt Escobar, 42, Rancho Cucamonga. For reasons unknown, Leytte assaulted Escobar repeatedly in the upper body, causing fatal injuries.

Leytte was booked at the West Valley Detention Center.
