HINKLEY – (INT) – Near Barstow, construction is underway on the State Route 58 Hinkley Expressway.

The $201 million project will widen and realign SR-58 from a two-lane conventional highway to a four-lane expressway. It will also construct two interchanges—one at Hinkley Road and the other at Lenwood Road.

Construction area signs and temporary tortoise fencing are being installed.

Hinkley Road will be closed beginning next Monday for eleven months for construction of the new Hinkley Road bridge overpass.
