Illegal fireworks spoil holiday fun
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Illegal fireworks in the wrong hands are getting a jump start on Saturday’s public shows.

In Moreno Valley, a 13-year-old boy lost three fingers when a device he was holding exploded.

Fireworks have been seen and heard for the past several nights in some neighborhoods of Southwest Riverside County.

Warnings have gone unheeded although law enforcement has vowed to arrest and prosecute those insistent on their own entertainment and celebrating.

Authorities underscore the wildfire danger that exists and the chance of personal injuries.

Most of the San Bernardino National Forest is open for camping, hiking, mountain biking and fishing. But -
-Wood and Charcoal fires are not permitted
-An approved spare arrester is required on all off-highway vehicles
-Smoking is permitted only in enclosed buildings or vehicles
-Recreational shooting is limited to public shooting ranges
