Ex-councilman accepts plea bargain in criminal case
MURRIETA – (INT) – Former Menifee city councilman Thomas Fuhrman will await sentencing for a year on charges of misusing his authority.

Fuhrman changed his plea Monday in Riverside Superior Court at Murrieta.

Fuhrman, 70, was arrested last October on eight charges including a felony and seven misdemeanors.

Three of the charges involve Fuhrman not having a license to run businesses or hold events at the Wooden Nickel Ranch he owns in Menifee.

Fuhrman accepted a plea deal and will be sentenced July 27th, 2016.

DA spokesman John Hall said Fuhrman must complete 100 hours of community service before he is sentenced. If he successfully completes that, then the DA will dismiss the felony count and Fuhrman will be placed on two years of summary probation.
